Carl Garrubba

Carl Garrubba (he/him), AKA The Count, joined the Pony Barnes Foundation Board of Directors as Treasurer in January 2023. With nine years of Board of Director experience in the non-profit sector and six of those years as Treasurer, he is skilled at managing finances with a strategic planning focus.  He currently serves as the Dean of Health and Natural Sciences at the Dominican University of CA with over 30 years of management experience as a CPA, financial analyst, physician assistant (PA), and PA program director. He brings strong financial, strategic, and business acumen to the Board of Directors.  

Carl lives in San Rafael with his husband and two very spoiled kitties! They enjoy cooking and especially eating, games, and entertaining friends and family.  The mission of PBF is important to him because growing up as an gay kid, he did not always feel welcome or safe in the world and he wants to change that experience for others.
